SHAWN AUSTIN WITH KRISTIN CARTER
EXCLUSIVE CONCERT SERIES
4 NIGHTS • 50 PEOPLE
JUNE 17-20 - 7:30 PM
With over 14 million collective streams to date, Vancouver singer-songwriter Shawn Austin has continued to work tirelessly to cement his place in the Canadian country music landscape. Nominated for the 2019 CCMA “Rising Star” Award in addition to presenting on the national CCMA Awards broadcast, Austin was recently a season two finalist on NBC’s Songland, pitching Florida Georgia Line as a songwriting contestant in the ground-breaking series that puts undiscovered songwriters at center stage as they pitch their original creations to top recording artists and a panel of chart-topping music producers, in hopes of creating the artists’ next big hits. His current track “Dangerous”, available now and written by Tenille Nadkrynechny (Tenille Townes), Heather Lynn Morgan, Lindsay Rimes, is a different side of Austin and one he’s excited for fans to hear. With magnetic vocals, honest lyricism and an overall laid-back vibe often compared to a hybrid of country superstar Brett Eldridge and Grammy-winning icon John Mayer, Austin shows no sign of slowing down in 2020.
A choir girl turned country troubadour, Kristin Carter’s alluring stage presence and dynamic vocals can move, excite, and empower an audience at any given moment. Born and raised in White Rock, BC, Carter grew up with the modern country vibes of Shania Twain, The Dixie Chicks, and Faith Hill in addition to taking cues from the soulful vocals of Beyoncé. Drawn to choir at age 5, Carter used the timeless vocal practice to train her voice for over 15 years. Following an educational journey that took her to Halifax and back, she uncovered the inspiration for her songwriting and thus began writing country songs during her daily Vancouver commute. In 2016, Carter turned her full creative attention to music and recorded a series of YouTube videos that garnered over 75,000 views. With a country sound infused by pop sensibilities and punctuated by powerhouse vocals and lyrics that inspire confidence, Kristin Carter’s country music journey has only just begun.
